As a Product Development Engineer, we'll equip you with the technology to assist with the development of new hot runner solutions covering BAU as well as blue sky based innovation approaches, following our business sales strategy!

What you'll bring?

  • Product development experience is preferred
  • Experience manufacturing and assembling plastic injection moulds
  • Strong emphasis on plastic mould design or mechanical design
  • Well-developed understating of CAD and design for manufacture (DFM)
  • Ability to produce and understand manufacturing drawings and geometric tolerances
  • FEA experience would be to your credit
  • Experience operating conventional machining centers. e.g. lathe, turret mill
  • Exceptional technical writing skills, fluent in English
  • Outstanding communication, technical and influencing skills

What are we looking for?

If you are an experienced Design Engineer ready for a new challenge and want to make a difference we want to hear from you! Here are the required qualifications & experience with some of the skills we are looking for:

  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering
  • Minimum 4 years design experience
  • Skilled and proficient in the use of 2D CAD software (preferably AutoCAD), and 3D CAD software (preferably NX)
  • Previous experience in a precision manufacturing environment
  • Previous experience with ERP / MRP systems
  • Capable of designing 3D models to suit customer needs whilst following company standards
  • Some knowledge of Hot Runner Systems and injection moulding
  • Ability to understand and create manufacturing drawings with geometric tolerances
  • High personal motivation, energy and good work habits
  • The problems you face can be large or small, simple or complex, and easy or difficult to solve. Regardless of the nature of the problems, a fundamental part of every Design Engineers role is finding ways to solve them. So, being a confident problem solver will be really important to your success.
  • Flexibility and willingness to work within a team environment

  • Proficient in the Programming Fanuc controllers manually and with the use of CAM software
  • Understanding of various QC equipment and QA principles
  • Ability to understand manufacturing drawings and geometric tolerances
  • Ability to work and monitor on multiple machining centres at one time
  • CNC Cylindrical grinding & Gun Drilling experience an advantage
  • NX10 CAD/CAM software experience is desirable
  • Physical dexterity and an eye for detail
  • Must be safety conscious
